Mark Blakewood grew up with a passion for golf, playing junior golf through high school, attending college on a full golf scholarship and as a Captain of his collegiate team at Louisiana Tech. Mark became a PGA member in 1987 and learned under legendary North Florida PGA professionals at Gainesville Country Club and Plantation at Ponte Vedra where he worked with Bob & David Duval. He was a part of the first leadership team as Head PGA Golf Professional at the newly opened Deercreek Country Club in 1989, later moving up to General Manager. In 2001 he and several partners purchased Orange Park Country Club and Mark served as Head PGA Golf Professional, General Manager and part owner of the club. After the club was sold, he returned to his management and teaching roots at Gainesville Country Club as Head PGA Golf Professional and General Manager. He now consults on golf and club operations management and provides top flight PGA golf instruction to all levels of golfers ranging from beginners to the very advanced.
